I hitched to Virginia from the San Fran Bay area. I did it just to do it. I had the time and didn't need any money. :-D it was an interesting trip and had an easy go of it. I got good rides... one from Cal to Chicago and then a guy headed for Georgia who left me on the skyline drive in Va and I got to my destination near Washington DC easily in a few rides. It was not my fave mode of getting around, but when I did it there were a whole lot of people hitchhiking and not that many were known to be serial killers yet Laughing
