I will be 19 years old on July 9 ( that's cancer if you're into astro signs), I attend community college and this is my first year. I wanted to go to teacher's college but my grades weren't good enough, so I will go here for 2 years, then off to college. I hope.
I am deaf. It's no big deal to me anymore but that's the fact. The day after my 13th birthday, I went swimming in the ocean in New Jersey and the very next day, I went swimming in a motel pool in New York State. In one of those places, I caught an infection and got a high fever and spent almost 5 weeks in the hospital. The whole summer I was in the hospital.
Wherever it happened, it did, and that's that. I lost most of my hearing right away from the infection but it gradually worsened until I have total loss of my hearing. I was lucky in one way - my speech was already developed at that age, so that's not a problem for me. I can't whisper and I either talk too loud or too soft but that's no big deal.
I live at home in Annville PA with my parents, I have an older brother, who is unemployed and lives at home and a sister who is also unemployed and lives at home (joke).
My life is divided in 2 parts - when I could hear and now that I can't hear. I used to love to dance, I loved listening to music, and I liked sports. Now, I can't hear music, so dancing is impossible and the only sport I do is cross country running.
I didn't mean to make this so long sorry.
I'd like to meet new people and expand my circle of friends, I like to email -
