Card carrying AANR nudist, been that way most of my life but just recently made it official. I try to be naked as much as possible. Spend our summer weekends on our boat (and unless there is something family oriented we don't divert from our weekends and even then we only go to family events if they are extremely important. i.e. weddings, funerals, graduations.). My family were not nudist but there was not a lot of modesty either. Large family by today's standards living in a small house with only one bathroom and everyone shared a room with someone so dressing in front of others was common. So at some point all our family was naked in front of others at some point. In Texes summers without a/c you wore as little as possible and it wasn't a big deal. As my older brothers and sisters left home I was the last one left home with mom and saw her naked a lot it was just life.

My best friend's family in the 60's had 8 children (3 girls) in a 2 bedroom house. Their mom would breast feed fed in front of me and the entire family. No one was adversely effected by the open sexuallity and all were very well sexually educated.

I am new on this site and being a nudist for 16 years with a family, was instantly drawn to this Forum topic. I also have to whole heartily agree with Byron and am absolutely flabbergasted by some of the negative posts on here. Especially so on this site in particular, since one would expect anyone who joined this site would be a bit more open minded. But then, everybody is entitled their own opinions. My motto is "Live and let live". I don't condemn others for what they enjoy and expect the same in return.

My wife and I became nudists over 16 years ago, and raised our daughter in a nudist home. It was completely natural for her because as everyone knows, little kids just naturally enjoy running around in their birthday suits. And being good nudist parents, we didn't teach her it was sinful and wrong, which it isn't. Thus she hasn't grown up with all the hangups that her clothed peers have to live with. I think you will find kids raised as nudists are the most self confident and well adjusted kids you could ever be around.

As for research and psychologists stating it's harmful to youth, you can find just as much information refuting their alleged studies. If one starts out with a specific agenda, one can always prove their point of view.

The only problem we have even had was having to keep our nudism discreetly hidden from just about everybody else, including extended family. And that is not our problem, it's American society's hypocritical, puritanical attitudes. In Europe, people don't even raise an eyebrow when someone undresses on a public beach. Oh, if only America would loosen up a little. Life would be so much more enjoyable for everyone.

Naturist, nudist whatever you want to call it, it's hard to describe the sense of freedom that comes over you. Once you have felt it you know it is not natural to be clothed. A true nudist is totally accepting and not judgemental of any body type. No one is perfect. A person is really sexy when they are comfortable in their own skin. I am fortunate to have a nudist area here in Austin Tx. It is in a gated park on the beautiful shores of Lake Travis. The park will open again around the end of April when it warms up again.
