It is an exemplary school scholastically, and also stress the military attitude--responsibility for self, discipline, and personal motivation. I will tell you up front, it is quite expensive, but having spent 4 yrs there myself, and returning every year for homecoming with several couples, the experience would benefit him beyond all imagination. I do not mention this as a means of corporal punishment, in the best light, the academics are superior to most any school your will investigate, private or military. You can go fight and die for your country, you can sign your life away, but the military is going to go on the internet just to find out if you like to sleep with men/women/both...? Is it really that big of a deal? Say Im a guy and I am in love with another man (or woman/woman if you prefer) and say I serve my country. Just because you love someone or are more attracted to someone of the same gender you lose everything you work for in the military. You could be the most squared-away individual there, working your fingers to the bone, trying to get ahead in your field, just like everyone else there... and then the military is going to do something so despicable as to go online, to a designated GLBT site and LOOK for YOU? You know what I always found funny...I remember reading a story in the military newspaper about some kid using cocaine. He was supposed to get processed out for it. ........When they took him to court martial he told them that --HE DIDNT KNOW HE HAD USED IT-- !!! He also told them that recently he'd been to a party and maybe at the party someone put it in his drink. He's still in service. Not being processed out. Doing drugs. --(I dont know of one person who does drugs that gives free samples in your drinks...seriously now...)-- So tell me something. This is a serious question. How can you tell me its okay to do something that alters your state of mind and they have physical proof of it--vs. being attracted to someone? It would be like someone saying "no, you can only love white people if your white, hispanic/hispanic," so on and so forth. You cant do that! Discrimination. Plain and simple. Ridiculous. BillySue32605	Thank you for posting this topic JenRick... As a Gay/Bi Navy veteran I know exactly where you are coming from having served 20 yrs. in the military... Heck, I even got married in 1974 when a witch hunt was being conducted at the base I was stationed on in the northern panhadle of Florida... Of course that marriage didn't last as my former wife couldn't handle the fact that I had lived a gay life prior to joining the military and a bi-life upon doing so... It was'nt until I married Sue that I was able to enjoy being a bi-male again as she helped to protect me from the military bureaucracy while allowing me to enjoy the company of men again... I also believe that having received five "Gold" hash marks (each representing 4 yrs. of good conduct) and two Navy Achievement Medals is an indication that even though I enjoyed having sex with both men and women I did my job... To our military members on this site all I can say is to be careful and please be discrete... For even with the current "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy your pic on a site like this can get you in trouble... Especially, with a president like Bush in office... My dad was in the Army and loved to travel. So I was blessed to have seen all I have. And I'm sure it's what helped me keep such an open mind. On the flip side. I went to five different high schools. Never really had friends. More like acquaintances with benefits. After I graduated I joined the military. I did the Corps. (Had to out do my father right). Did my war time. Came back with PTSD.
