Before I start, let me make this disclaimer. According to the DSM-IV, a transexual is a person who is biologically one gender, but emotionally/mentally identifies as the other. Further, the DSM says that a transvestite is a person who wears the clothing of the opposite gender because it excites them sexually. (Also known as Crossdressing)
NOW.........with those thing said, let me say this; as you can see, neither transexualism nor transvestism are sexual preferences. Also, in my personal experience, I have never met, nor heard of, a female-bodied-person who derives sexual pleasure from wearing the clothing of men. If anyone has information to the contrary, PLEASE share it with me.
Sexual preference is about which gender one prefers to engage in sexual acts with. We typically know these to be heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual, or as my lovely wife says, OFTEN is her sexual preference.
So.........think about this for a minute.........if a female-bodied, male-brained person has sex with a biological female, is it straight sex or lesbian? If a male-bodied, female-brained person has sex with a bio-male, is it straight or gay? Now, these situations assume that each trans-person is pre-op(no surgeries yet). It from these questions that I have come to feel that trans-folks are bisexual by default.
