well said BillnPattie. i personally know quite a few people who have had to leave the site for one reason or another but did come back. one member i know had been gone about 9 months & a couple more were gone about 6 months. not all the expired members are ones that were here only for a trial membership. sometimes there are reasons in people's personal life where they have to leave the site for awhile. also we do our best at catching the duplicate accounts. i know from working closely with another mod how many duplicate accounts we found. and he found more than i did because he was always behind the scenes looking for duplicate accounts. so that's why you see that some members haven't been active for awhile....it's because they have made duplicate accounts. for the most part....most members are on the up & up but you do have to check to see when they were last active. it takes alot of work to run this site & i commend the webbies for doing such a great job. but the members have to do their fair share of research of members they are interested in also. and those members may not always be within a stone's throw from your house.....you may have to do a little bit of travelling to that member you are interested in or they may have to travel to you. it would be nice if everyone could find someone near them but it isn't always possible. thanks.

No... that really does not answer my question.

Here's what I am after...

If you were to send an email to me thru BP... BP would send a notification to my real email address letting me know I have received mail here.

My question is...

..does BP do this for all accounts here on BP, including expired/non-paying members?
..if not, then if I email a member, he/she will never know I have attempted to contact them?
..if not, to do so might be a postivie way to bring some members back to BP.
..if not, how can I tell if a member's account is expired so I do not waste my time on them?
..should I just -assume- that if a member has not been online recently that they are gone?

I did of members within 100 miles of me show less then 15% that have been online in the past 30 days.

I have to agree. Just because I am friends with someone does not mean I know all their friends and everything about them.

One never knows if a co worker of someone is in the chat room, or on the site.

When a member gives a phone number to another member, its not for that member to share with others no matter how close they may think the people are. The same goes for pictures. Just because a member takes a picture with another member, that doesnt mean its ok to show everyone else. Always ask for permission before showing a pic with another member in it.

so a member can post a complaint about another member...ok....now the member who had the complaint against them....are they going to be able to see what the complaint was & who posted the complaint against them so they can rectify the situation? or defend themselves & avoid the other member so they don't make the same mistake that caused that member to post the complaint in the first place? if the member who had the complaint against them has no idea what they did to warrant a complaint against them then how are the going to know unless they are told what they did & to whom? i mean what's fair is fair....there are 2 sides to a complaint & both sides should be heard. if you are only going by what the member posting the complaint said then i don't see how that could be anywhere near fair. anyone could go through the profiles & post false complaints against any member. what's to say that member #1 is interested in hooking up with member #2 but they aren't what that member #2 is looking for....what's to stop member #1 from posting a complaint saying that they falsely represented themselves or some other off the wall complaint? plus the fact that everyone has the comment section on their profile...that's suppose to be for comments whether they be good, bad or indifferent.

I agree reviews should stay posted as it tells something about that member and if a member hides the reviews.................they may have something to hide from others and this could be harmful to other members that are NOT informed about the member that hides reviews .....bottom line............ there is the possibility of a con artist member or totally dishonest member that will not go away but not all people are this way.....just a few
