True Polyamoury isn't about the sex, but the love between the people, be it a Triad or more. Too many people confuse Swinging with Polyamoury, or use the term as they feel guilty about the sex! But just like any relationship, it can work and work very well. We had a live-in girlfriend for a couple of years who was part of our family and did everything with us, just as another partner would. While it lasted, it worked great, but if couples think it's hard work keeping a relationship going, try it with a Triad! It isn't easy. We ended the relationship, but stayed friends as best as we could.

It was not something we were looking for at all, but was something that just happened. We never found that same feeling again.

We have good friends back out West who have been in a MFM Triad for about 30 years now. They all live together very happily and have a great life, They do not have any children involved, so that stress isn't there and I'm not sure what would have happened if children were part of the mix!

A lot of people mistake "Swinging" for "Polyamory", I see that time and time again. It has become quite the common term for just fucking someone else!

We did have one Polyamorous relationship, many years ago, with a close friend who became part of our family. The three of us did everything together, just as any couple would, we just happened to be a Triad instead. We were together for over 2 years, and she lived with us for 6 months, all of us sleeping in the same large bed. It was a good and honest relationship that was not built on sex...but I will admit the sex was prevalent!

But it's hard for couples to stay together, hence the high divorce rate, and even more so for a Poly Triad. Things just didn't work out, but at least we did remain friends.

We never looked for it, it just happened. We're not looking for it now, but if it happened again, with either a man or a women, we would let it happen.
