Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place anyway?"

Martin Luther King, Jr.:

Grandpa:
In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken had crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.

I have just released the new Chicken 2006, which will both cross roads AND balance your checkbook, though when it divides 3 by 2 it gets 1.4999999999.

Colonel Sanders:
I missed one?

B.F. Skinner:
Because the external influences, which had pervaded its sensorium from birth, had caused it to develop in such a fashion that it would tend to cross roads, even while believing these actions to be of its own freewill.

Albert Einstein:
Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road crossed the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.

Buddha:
If you ask this question, you deny your own chicken nature.

It didn't cross the road; it transcended it.

To die. In the rain.

Did the chicken cross the road?
Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes the chicken crossed the road,
but why he crossed, I've not been told!

O.J.:
It didn't. I was playing golf with it at the time.

This old farmer in Tennessee had a Rooster, his name was Booster.
He was the horniest Rooster the farmer had ever seen...So one day the farmer
decieded to mess with old Booster,,,He jumped in his truck and drove to a nearby town . There was a huge chicken farm located there,so the farmer went up and bought 30 healthy chickens...,loaded them in his truck and took them back home to his farm...When he pulled in the driveway old Booster
was perched up on a fencepost sleeping til he heard the chickens cluckin.
Then he was wide awake,,The farmer unloaded all the chickens and told
Booster, leave my damn chickens alone ,you horny bastard ...So the farmer went inside ate supper, and went to sleep....The next morning he heard Booster start crowing at sun-up as usual,so he walked outside to feed his new chickens, but he started seeing dead chickens laying all over the place.
The farmer starting counting chickens and sure enough there was 30 dead chickens laying all around the barnyard .He looked over at Booster and he was struting around, pecker sticking straight up,laughing...He said damn you Booster, you old Bastard, you done screwed everyone of my new chickens to
death ...Booster was just snickering and struting around..So the farmer jumped in his truck, drove back to the huge chicken farm in the nearby town and bought 100 chickens,,,loaded them up and headed for home,,thinking I'll show his little ass this time ,he might screw me outta 30 chickens but lets see if he can take on 100....The farmer gets home, unloads all the chickens
gives Booster a dirty look and heads in the house..eats supper and falls asleep..The next morning he walks outside and looked,,,started seeing dead chickens every few feet ..as he was counting chickens he heard some squaking noises up in the air and noticed several big hawks and buzzards flying around,,,as he continued to count he was cussing at Booster,,when he rounded the barn still counting dead chickens,,he looked over and there was Booster laying flat on his back, wings spread wide open Dead ...The farmer started laughing jumping up and down yelling I knew it...I knew it,,I knew you couldn't take on 100 chickens a live to tell about it you old Horny Bastard you. About that time he heard a noise,,and Booster done raised up ,had a finger up to his lip and said shhhhhhh, would you shut the hell up ...

Have you heard the one about the Gay Rooster?

Farmer had many chickens on his farm and one old rooster. He decided it was time to retire the old man or at least get him some help. So he drove over to a nearby chicken farm and bought a new rooster -- bloodlines outstanding, youthful, full of vim and strut. Farmer took him home and put him out in the yard.

Youngster struts over to the old rooster and leers, " Give it up, old man, the time has come for you to move on."

The old rooster pretended to be scratching the way chickens do when they are submitting before cocking his head up and beginning to beg. "Please don't turn me out, I'm old and I need the coop. And you could leave me a couple of the older hens as a reward for all my long service. You see what servicing all of them has done to me. Can you please just leave me this couple and let me hang on a little longer?"

Young stud thrust out his chest and raised his head before promnouncing in a loud voice for all the hens to hear, "No way, old cock. You are through."

Old rooster made one last pitch. "I tell you what, let's race for it. If you win, I go away and you get the run of the place and all the hens. If I win, you have to become one of my hens."

Youngster snorted and glared around. All the hens were listening and the challenge was clear in the air.

Young rooster leaned back, folded his wings and patted his toes in the sand. Then he smiled and said, "OK old fellow, I accept the challenge. And just to show you there are no hard feelings, I'll give you a head start."

Old rooster took off around the farmhouse squawking and flapping and raising hell. Youngster counted to 2 (he'd promised 3, but who was refereeing?) and took off after the old rooster. He was gaining ground and just as they rounded the corner at the front porch, farmer looked up and saw the young rooster chasing the old rooster with eyes glazed with lust.

Quickly the farmer grabbed the everpresent shotgun and "BLAM" shot young rooster dead. After placing the gun back on the porch, he said, "Damn, that's the third gay rooster I've bought lately!"

Moral to story is: Don't mess with old farts. Maturity, cunning and experience triumphs in most barnyard struggles.
It's that time of year!!!

A woman walks into an accountant's office and tells him that she needs to
file her taxes.
The accountant says, "Before we begin, I'll need to ask you a few
questions." He gets her name, address, social security number, etc. and then
asks, "What is your occupation?"
"I'm a whore," she says.
The accountant is somewhat taken aback and says, "No, No, No, that won't
work. Let's try to rephrase that."
The woman says, "OK, I'm a high-end call girl."
"No, that still won't work. Try again."
They both think for a moment and the woman says, "I'm an elite chicken
farmer."
The accountant asks, "What does chicken farming have to do with being a
prostitute?"
"Well, I raised a thousand little peckers last year."
"Chicken Farmer it is."

Makes 8 or 10 servings. * I'm sure people are wondering what is a chipolte pepper. It is a smoked jalape?o. It is usually found in adobo sauce. Do not think the soup will taste good without it. It is the reason why my soup recipe is so good.

Chicken n Gravy sandwhiches (from RR) Ingredients 2 to 3 lemons, juiced (enough to yield 1/4 cup) 1 teaspoon sugar or honey Half a palmful finely chopped flat-leaf parsley 2 large or 3 to 4 small cloves garlic, minced 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Salt and freshly ground black pepper 3 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 cups chicken stock 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 loaf crusty French bread or 2 batardes (shorter, slightly wider baguettes) Directions Heat the oven to low heat. In a bowl, add the lemon juice, sugar or honey, parsley, garlic and extra-virgin olive oil. Stir to combine. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and add to the dressing, turn to coat and let marinate for 15 minutes. Heat a large skillet, broiler, grill or grill pan. Shake off excess marinade and cook the chicken for 6 minutes on each side. Remove to a cutting board, let rest for a few minutes and slice on an angle. While the chicken marinades and cooks, add the butter to a sauce pot over medium heat. When the butter melts, stir in the flour, cook 1 minute, then whisk in the stock. Cook until thickened to a light gravy, about 5 to 6 minutes. Season with black pepper, remove from the heat and stir in the Dijon. While the chicken cooks, crisp the bread in the warm oven. Cut the bread into 4 portions and split or halve. Use tongs to dip the sliced chicken in the gravy and fill the rolls. Arrange on a serving platter and serve.
