It has nothing to do with the type of swinger group, it has to do with the type of party. The type of party you just mentioned is an old fashioned, and quite common, swinger gang-bang. Typically no voyeurs are allowed, and if you attend, you have to take part. We put these on ourselves from time to time, and if you don't jump in, you get thrown out!

This thread doesn't deal with those types of parties, as those truly are "sex" parties. Since you cannot have sex right at the party, but need to go to the privacy of your own room, the two are not the same.

These types of off-premises parties are never a free-for-all, even within the experienced swingers community. They are set up so you can meet like-minded people, and if everyone is in agreement, go off somewhere else for your fun. You never come to these types of parties with the idea of guaranteed sex in mind. It is a very different scene.
