Hey COOL, I'm glad to finally see some replies to my post.

The word transgendered has appeared within the past 20 years as a sort of fill-in for all the areas not covered by transexual or transvestite. These include all manner of gender expression. It also includes a younger generation of transfolk who want the freedom to NOT choose a gender, but to just BE. The point is that gender, just LIKE sexuality, is on a continuum, and certainly not as simple as black-and-white, or pink-and-blue, as the case may be. The simplest, and perhaps the most accurate explination I have ever heard, is that your sex is between your legs, and your gender is between your ears.

It is my personal belief that if a person tells me they are str8, they are, if they say they are gay, they are, regardless of what gender they are inside or out. It is not for me to say how anyone else defines their sexuality, or their gender for that matter. As I said in my post, I FEEL that transfolks are bisexual by default, but that is my opinion, nothing more. It is also my opinion that transfolks are the best-of-the-BEST of both worlds.......sexually speaking. LOL

I too have seen many shows on the Discovery Channel about trans-issues, including one that said when a transman's voice changes it is due to the vocal cords LENGTHENING, which is not true. I am 50 years old, and I can assure you that I have NOT grown any since starting testosterone, nor have my vocal cords. The vocal cords thicken, not lengthen. So not everything on Discovery is completely accurate.

A closer study of the english language will show that the prefix trans- means cross, or to cross, and the root word -vest means dress or to dress.

Everyone has ideas about which thing is what. My only intent here was to start some dialog to help educate folks who might not be so close to the issue. The bottom line is this; transfolk, of whatEVER persuasion, are first and foremost, HUMAN, not circus sideshow freaks. Please remember that, when dealing with anyone of an "alternative&quot ; lifestyle.......something I'm sure many folks who have known for a while that they were bisexual can relate to.
