They are called OraQuick. Been available over 5 years now. Rite Aid has them in the area where pregnancy tests are. They cost about $43. It is like a pregnancy test except you swab your gums instead of peeing on it. After 20 minutes if a pink line appears in the test area, you are HIV positive. There is also a "control" area that shows if the test is valid. I have a friend who is an Infectious Disease specialist. He says the home test is very accurate, at least as accurate as the test they do at the hospital. It does not test for other STDs. And if course it can be up to six months before an infected person converts to a positive test. Still, it gives us a lot of peace of mind. And we can all relax and get down to fun. We both prefer bareback
