But Prop 8 does violate my rights 3. If the voters approved an initiative that took the right to free speech away from women, but not from men, everyone would agree that such a measure conflicts with the basic ideals of equality enshrined in our constitution. Proposition 8 suffers from the same flaw - it removes a protected constitutional right - here, the right to marry - not from all Californians, but just from one group of us. I always do the same and block those profiles from viewing mine also. I am also trying to figure out if I should be insulted if someone is interested in meeting me and they simply don't communicate that they have changed their mind or have some other reason for not letting me know they can't. Maybe my definition of nice, courteous, respectful is different. Maybe I am too sensitive. Maybe the rules on social networking are much more different than the face to face exchanges. Connections of course is a large gay bar. Icebreakers has a local social on the second Saturday of the month for lifestyle couples. We often go to Bluegrass secrets and of course you can find out more about these clubs online. The nice thing about meeting people at social events is that you know that they are also going there for some of the same reasons namely to meet other people. However it is always up to you to introduce yourself. If you are a shy wallflower other people cant get to know you and you only leave disappointed. I have never known anyone to be upset over you introducing yourself at a club and taking a few moments to see if a couple and a single guy like each other. You may get 3, 7 or 10 no's before you get a yes. But you will eventually get that yes. Also just because a couple said no one night doesnt mean that they wont say yes another. We have often gone to a place knowing that we had to meet another couple and turned down a nice guy on one night but wished that he would come back another night.
