They have also used other account names like: AnonymousMEL, mary_melani, and preciousmichelle

Please make note of their writing and these example emails to help catch them again in the further.

Their scam starts out like this:
"HELLO NEW FRIEND
I am very sorry for intruding in your privacy,I am new to this site and I saw your profile and I really like your profile and I will really like to know more about you .You can also contact me one melani_mary@****.*** so that we can chat and exchange pictures.I hope to read from you soon"

(They spammed many members this email within minutes without even looking at their profile).

In further emails:
"Hello
Thanks for your mail,I am so happy to read from you,I check at your profile and I am interested.You can contact me on melani_mary@****.*** so that we can exchange pictures"

"Hello
I am so happy to read from you,You can IM me on melani_mary@****.*** so that we can chat and exchange pictures if you dont mind.I hope to read from you soon"

"I am so fortunate to meet someone like you,my friend was right to give me this site,she said that I will meet good people here"

The scam continues where she/he brings up the subject of money playing on the sympathy of the members to send them money through western union (or pay for items).

Luckily, before they got much further in their scam, a wonderful BP member reported them by hitting the Mail Abuse button. Good job BP'rs on spotting these scammers and keeping BP clean!

I've watched this thread with interest and caution from the first minute it was posted. As I watched, I thought that the logical point was made. Then, that simple point has been repeated time & time again.

This is one of my pet peeves (For me to have to prove I'm Bisexual) It is simple, IF I say, "I am Bisexual, I am Bisexual" And, if YOU take the time to know me, YOU will know that I am indeed Bisexual. YOU have the option & opportunity to see one's interests and even read what they have to say about those interests. Then, there is the forum, that covers just about anything YOU can think of. In these forum subjects, YOU have the opportunity to read any & every ones thoughts on nearly anything.

With all these tools to work with, YOU can get to know someone pretty well.

Then, ofcorse WE are free to exchange IM & email names & addresses. Then there is always the telaphone.

There is no reason that YOU can't get to know all anyone would ever need to know about anyone on this site.

IT IS SO SIMPLE ! ....

If someone is harassing you in emails you should block them from emailing you first then write an email to us or the webmasters letting us know what the member is doing and we can look into it and take actions that way.

The reasons to report chat abuses are for spamming, harassment, URL's, email addresses and any other contact information, but should only Be reported if there is no mod in chat or the mod is not doing their job. When reporting abuses they are sent as a text message to Webmasters cell phone and it does cost them money for every abuse. This is a system to keep the site clean and safe for all members please do not abuse the ABUSE buttons or it might have to be removed.

This is something that everyone does and is not to point fingers at anyone, but we do hope that people will think twice before reporting an abuse because it does cost money and we know the webmasters do not want to have to raise prices for memberships because people are abusing the ABUSE button.
