We have been "Swinging" for about 28 years now. We started when Carol was pregnant with our first child, who is now 28! I believe that it has added great variety to our sex life, and kept our relationship very strong. Most of our sex is still just the two of us together, but we do still enjoy an active and varied "Swinger" life. We've also gone beyond the "couples only" concept, and we both can play with who we want whenever we want, without the other partner even there.

Sex between just us is still the best due to the emotional attachment. But sex with others is great too. It is that it's better with just us or with others, it's just different. The variety is what keeps things enjoyable. Neither of us could ever be monogamous, it would probably make for a boring sex life after a while ;)

 Wow. Great subject. I have to agree with Steve's definitions. The emotional side of swinging is a big part of it. Being able to seperate your relationship with a partner from a roll in the hay is a must if the relationship is to last.
Can a single be a swinger? Again Steve did a very good job defining that. I would add that MANY singles have been in a long term relationship at one time or another and did some swinging then. Once a swinger, always a swinger! Just my opinion, and you know what they say about them.....................camel 0

How do you handle this situation? I'm a Polyamorist(care about the whole relationship experience) but your spouse is a swinger (cares about the sex) and also believes your a swinger (cares only for the sex)?

I not only love the sex, but I love the idea of someone new and building that first part of a relationship. How exciting it is, how much fun it is, how young and vibrant it makes you feel?

Also, how do you handle the rejection or the "break up"?

There is a good forum post in "life lessons" that I read. But I think this subject needs some more explaining.

Alot of questions, probably few answers. It is hard not becoming emotionally attached when I sex with a person, but I love the sex part and the relationship part.

that would be great if there was a way to know if a person was bi or a swinger however i dont know if i want to shake hands with every person i see ...and like they say it takes one to know one ;)there are signs if you look that someone may be a swinger or bi :)
