Not that I want to try to make your post all about me nor do I want to make light of your respondant's insensitivity, but...for me this has been very enlightening thread. You see for many years, ever since The Phrank (lesbian folk singer, San Francisco) concert at the Vancouver Folk Music festival many years ago I have wanted to be a lesbian. Yes, between songs, Phrank listed the qualities of a good lesbian and, inspired, I stood up and announced...."I'm a lesbian"!!! but ImediateIy, I was told by thousands that I was not and could never be a lesbian because I'm a man. I could never be a lesbian. I could never be a lesbian...until today. (I'm fighting back tears) Oh, and you're way hot darlin.

Just for the record and those keeping score, We're a couple and have gone thru the same basic conversations more times then we care to count. On New Year's Day we started keeping score of the single male and female (yes we get them both) that are rude or crude. Here are the score tallies per gender
total randoms 90 males 8 females
Rude within 10 IM\'s 90 Rude within 10 IM\'s 1
Rude within 8 IM\'s 60 Rude within 8 IM\'s 0
Rude within 6 IM\'s 60
Rude within 4 IM\'s 50
Rude within 2 IM\'s 10

Not sure exactly what that would indicate other then there are more single men then women more rude single men then rude single women and men seem to become rude sooner when informed friendship 1st.

We'll also say that the lone female that was rude was polite about it compared to the men. The comment contained no foul language just a rude comment about cross-dressing that if she would have read the profile she wouldn't have IM\'d to begin with.

Now the good news!!! Yes there are some very sweet, kind and considerate single men out there! They are generally an endangered species merely because once a sweet charming and wonderful woman that is single finds them they are endanger of becoming a couple(Which is great for the soon-to-be couple but not for the species.) Which cycles back to less good fishing for those that seek a male to join them.

Now with that said the other side of the coin is the sweet single women that are available are so fearful of the shark infested waters they seldom are out seeking and are hoping a good fishing couple will find their niche in the ocean of life.

Rude is self defining and has no discriminatory options. Rude is not an opinion. Rude is a constant and can be lived with out. Compliments work so much better. This is not an opinion BTW, LMAO

That is the beauty of a fourm on a open minded site..... anyone can post anything they feel. And personally I believe it rude to say there is no purpose for it. I believe puppy did a wonderful job of putting into words the thought process in a way that would tell certain members to back off without being rude and saying it nastily.

I have seen the members bear speaks of that pounce on new female members whether they are listed as bi straight or lesbian. I have also heard them say *I've turned lesbians straight". Spend some time in chat and you will see why this post has ALOT of purpose.

BP is a site where all are welcome no matter their sexual preferences. A place where all can enjoy and hopefully find what they are looking for without judgement. Unfortunately there are still those that feel they know better then the person themselves what they are seeking.

That is rude and inconsiderate but please don't let behavior like that upset you. Rude and mean people are rude and mean because it satisfies their own need to be rude and mean ... just as nice people are nice because being nice satisfies their need to be that way. As someone who is well past the mid point of his lifespan I assure you that our time on earth is too short to take even a moment to be hurt or even just irritated by something that really isn't about you in the first place ... it's their problem. Take joy from your interaction with the nice people here and ignore the rest
