I found out that it is some sort of an anthropomorphic character that is a mixture and animal with human emotions and traits. OK, that is the G version of what furry's are, however, I think the person you chatted with might be referring to a different kind of furry. There is a group of folks who like to dress up in costumes of animals, all furry and such, and have sex....in costume. There was a really cool CSI episode that featured these folks. Now I'm not sure this was what the chatter was referring to, but it's a possibility.
