XYGirl	DBert, not to get into an argument, but you are quite wrong in your statement about just being a male (with missing parts)., if a blood test was drawn on me., it would and does indicate female, the T levels, the E levels are of the female range, and not in the male range. Yes, I took hormones and hormone blockers to get to this stage. There is more to transition than just a surgery.<br /> Some may argue that you cannot change your chromosomes? well there are so many variations form the normal, XY, or XX. there can be any number of X chromosomes or Y chromosomes in a persons genetic make up. So the defense of chromosomes cannot be rationalized. <br /> There are sadly too many people like yourself who make that statement about "still a male (with missing parts)". It is the reason so many transgender woman are the victims of discrimination. A transgender woman can be refused treatment of any kind from medical personnel based upon religious beliefs, same with housing and employment.., and quite sadly it is still legal in 42 states to use "Trans Panic" as a defense for a man who murders a transgender woman after sex. missjess68	Hi there - I had a hysterectomy in Aug, and had everything taken - ovaries, tubes, etc. Obviously, I am in menopause now, at age 35. I was scared to death that my sex drive would falter, but it hasn't. I take black cohosh, and I have no idea if its a natural aphrodesiac, or if its the estrogen replacement I am on, or the fact that sex is no longer painful, but my sex drive is kickin!! I would recommend all women get hormone level testing - you might have to insist on this. Sometimes if a woman is lacking testosterone or progesterine, her sex drive will decrease. There are a lot of natrual supplements available if you are afraid of the HRT stories out there. Also - make sure you know the recommended doses for whatever you take. The recommended dose for black cohosh is 40 mg a day. The US and UK, among others, don't regulate supplements. Germany does. I take Remifeminin, which is made in germany, but there are other brands. Ok - having said that, its important to rule other things out. Many women going though hormone changes, such as menopause, start feeling that they are no longer "real" women, and might start to feel no so sexy. Also, are there any other problems in the relationship? I know with an ex of mine, we had all sorts of problems, and he tended to blame hormones, and this was about 5 years before my surgery. He didn't want to think that the fact that he had stolen money from me, among other things, might be a turn off. Is there any romance? And by that - I do NOT mean foreplay. Light some candles, cook her dinner, hire a sitter for the kids - whatever. Even vacuum! Lighten her load. Good luck! LolaGets	I'm giggling at some of the confusion. As male to female trangender I just assume it's common knowledge how the change happens. I won't bother with the legal stuff, as it's different from state to state, but in general you must live full time for a specified period before the shrink signs you off. Then you're cleared for the sex reasignment surgery if you so wish. Many of us are happy with hormone replacement therapy alone, so we can keep our little friend. XYGirl	Well from someone who is transgender., to me "shemale" is very derogatory, I know some other transgender women from my support groups who feel the same., and I have heard other transgender women also say how they found the term "shemale" very offensive.., as well as the term "tranny".
