MJonnie	Hello Brett!! i had my nipples pierced (and with a year old baby in the house none the less!) but unfortunately lost them when i went into the hospital and did not have spacers, and they closed up in the 2 hours that they were out after having them healed for 3 years!! :( When getting them done professionally, the standard size is 14 g., but i had the 12 g. When i went to find out about getting them put back in, they had a new employee and literally freaked out when he seen the size of them, although i did not find them to be that big. He showed me his, but he couldn't get past the first nipple, and actually had to go down to a size 16 g. (smaller than your standard 14g.) in order to keep that one. So i would talk to your piercer... maybe you could start with the smaller size and move up from there? As for the pain, i never base my decision upon another person's experience, as everyone has different levels of pain tolerance. For example, mine did not hurt at all, just felt a little 'squeeze', although it felt good, and was followed by an immediate need for pleasure!! ;) None of my piercing thus far (5 per each ear, both nips and navel) have hurt. However, that will not stop me from going into it 'knowing' that it is gonna hurt.... i figure that's a safe bet when your considering poking a hole in your body and at the least, i am pleasantly surprised!! There is a really cool nipple torture device for those with pierced nips as well, called nipple stretchers... you need the bars (instead of the hoops), and your nipples must be completely healed before you use them. You can find them in various styles from sleek metal stretchers to ones that have spikes!! i have yet to try these, but i am very excited to do so!! Also, (and after this i am done, promise! ;) do your homework on piecer's in your area... just because they can, doesn't mean they should... just one i learned the hard way!!! Just my 2 cents...
