I remember a substitute teacher of mine, from my junior year in high school. He was black. The one thing he absolutely hated was to be referred to as an African-American. The first thing he did in class was go on a rant. It went something like this:

"I hate it when the subject of race comes up. I hate it because I always have to fill the form in as African-American. I feel that is an out-right lie. I was not born in Africa. I have never been in Africa, let alone lived there. Therefore I cannot be African. Anyone that refers to me as African is spreading malicious lies about me. I was born and raised in America. I am an American. And in my class I don't care if you call me black, negro, colored, or even (I appologize for using this word) a nigger, But no student of mine will ever call me an African-American."

I agreed with him whole-heartedly. And I haven't used the term African-American since, unless I'm talking about a person who was born and raised in Africa and moved to America. So instead of race, why not use the term "skin-color" ?

Dec. 21 2012, marks the end of the Mayan calendar. They tell of the world coming to an end. Not in the sense of complete destruction, but in the sense of ending as we know it. To them we will be entering into the 5th cycle, the cycle of ether aka the cycle of completeness and oneness. Now there is also the chance of the magnetic poles reversing as we cross the equatorial plain of our galaxy. The magnetic north pole has already moved 41 minutes west towards Russia which is an interesting fact. Also the magnetic field over South Africa has already flipped. Are we all going to die??? I highly doubt it, are people making more of a big deal than is needed to be made, I personally believe so. If something happens well then so be it. just my 2 cents

We were on a wonderful trip to Africa for our honeymoon several months ago. On our flight back, we had a connection in England and somehow became separated. You know, aside from Blacks beach in San Diego, there really isn't a whole lot in Southern Cali as far as nude beaches go. The spot just south of Point Dume (which is just south of Zuma) isn't a "legal" place. It's a private beach and, although, alot of people do go nude there, I understand you can get ticketed. Santa Barbara also has a nice beach that's legal. I just cant remember the name. Good luck.:)
