I've got mixed emotions on the topic. BP is kinda like my Hotel California. I'm a lifer and at times when I got so pissed at Nessa( and Nessa knows that I have tempered over the years) I tried to "check out" but found I can "never leave". I keep coming back for various reasons, mainly nostalgic for the many great members I have had the opportunity to meet here at BP. I was always glad that that BP "ignored" my requests to drop me from the site and "kept me on the list" so to speak.
As far as "trial members" are concerned, I agree that if they do not commit to a membership, there is no reason to keep their records at BP beyond the Trial Membership. However, that's Bill n Pattie's call.
I just wanted to say this: Over my last 4 years of membership, I DO understand that using BP as a "temporary vehicle in chat or otherwise" for exchange of e-mail addy's & phone numbers with other members and non-members is a cheap way of doing things. That's why certain restrictions apply to Trial Members on the use of BP services and additionally the MODs challenge and warnings in chat for members that continually try to divulge their e-mail address while "in chat". Why should BP be the free vehicle for for personal contacts? Nessa makes an outstanding point on this subject above.
Bottom-line, you get what you pay for. BP is the best site out there bar-none. It is fair, rigid to a degree, but maintains a high level of integrity by doing so.
To sum it up, It's like asking if I could use your BP cell-phone to make a call because the site down the street wouldn't let me. My answer...Sure! Come back and use my phone again! Anytime!

The rules on pictures are posted right there in the TOS (terms of service) for all members to read. It says:

We offer a "Free 30-Day Trial" option (referred to by the term "Free Membership"). Members who choose this Membership option ("Free Members") either by default or by choice, will only be able to view pictures for the first 7 days of Membership, and will be subject to an Expiration Date equal to 30 days after the date which the Free Membership was initiated. Only one Free 30-Day Trial per member. The creation of a duplicate account is strictly prohibited. Any duplicate accounts will be removed immediately, and could result in permanent suspension from the Service. No fee is charged for the Free 30-Day Trial Membership option.

So yes, like letsplay said, your pics are blurred after your free 7 day trial.

If you were to buy a membership (length does not matter) you would get free pictures again for the remaining time on your 30 day trial membership.

BP does not do Bait and Switch. This has always been a great site and always will be.

You're right! Within the 30 day free trial, they have access to email, can receive IMs, view forums, go into chat, etc. But, they can only view pics for the first 7 days of their trial.

I have been a member here over 4 yrs and that has NEVER come up as an issue.

30 days free trial to use the site features and 7 days to enjoy unlimited pictures should be plenty to give a member something to go on whether they want to pay or not.

Paid members have more features than trial members as well. If a better search engine, more forums, use of cyber room, the ability to instant message members, to make their own chat rooms, to see members paid only photo albums and more are not enough reason to want to pay for a membership, maybe then yes, someone may want to rethink what they are looking for and why they were here in the first place.

For price, BP is the best site around. Here you have site owners who actually give a damn, not like other sites where you never see them. They are always doing things to keep this site running the best they can, always adding new features and improving it for their members.

The site has moderators...not bots, and wonderful caring members.

If all this isn't enough "dangling carrot" oh well. People have to make a living and that includes the webmasters here.

Hope this helps. A lot of times they ask because in their haste to get on the site, they skip over all the details and just see the word "free"

What I usually tell a trial member when they say, " What happened to my pic?" I remind them of the above, and let them know, if they buy a membership before their free trial expires, they will get pictures back not only for the amount of time they pay for, but for the remainder of their free trial time as well.

Many times they will buy a membership right then to get the best use of that remaining time of their free site trial, because it then gives them all the benefits of a paid member for the remaining time as well....for example: cyber room, all forums, paid pics, etc
