Why is it you talk to people online about getting together, and it never happens. You hear the excuses, oh you're to far, or I am working and never get off. Or the best one, you talk and talk, then you never hear from this person again. You see them online and they just plain ignore you. I'm at the point to just say the hell with it because I am sick of it.

I think alot of people would be more happy if people would specify it that way when a person reads another members profile they are not wasting their time emailing them when they see such things in the profile. I know we do not list it because we feel everyone deserves a chance and we always like to talk to people for a bit online before we even plan a meeting. If we find we are not compatiable during the talk we will let the person know, but we do not have a problem staying friends online.

The more people know about you the more interest it will create for them to wanna talk to you and get to know you ....... check the online and new members daily .. email anyone that peaks your interest dont look so much at the fact they may be far from you distance isnt always a factor a lot of people are willing to travel for the right people and certainly feel free to drop into chat from time to time there are always new people there and regulars who are all great to talk to who knows there might be a connection there

I have noticed that the Online section has changed from listing the most recent people online to the closest people online. I would like to put my two cents in and say I liked it much better the old way.

Hi, I went to search people with similar interests to mine, then sorted by distance so I could see who was closest. There were some local people, but they had not been online for 4-12 months! If they are not online for 4 months, that tells me they will likely not be back.

In various search results, can the site put the last time they were online? That would tell me how "Fresh" their profile or activity is.

Instant messaging is one of the ways I have made a lot of my online friends and some have become really close friends over the years. I personally use Yahoo, MSN, AIM, and ICQ because I have friends that use one of these and no others so I have been using them all to chat with people. When my wife is home she likes using hers too, but she isn’t home a lot. Though her and I talk a lot on them some times when she is off somewhere. Cybering was one of my big pass times using these messengers, now I mainly use them to chat with friends from other countries and for role playing with other friends.
